Project description
Designed by TANGRAM Architekten as part of the TETEM 3 development, De Weverij marks the final architectural statement in the redevelopment of Roombeek. Built on the site of a former textile hall, the residential building reconnects the area to its industrial heritage while introducing a bold, contemporary identity.
For the façade, Alumet applied double anodized aluminium panels in AluCopper 02 (brightened) and AluRed (matt). By combining two tones and finishes, the façade gains depth, variation, and a subtle interplay between reflection and texture. The copper and red hues echo the historic brick tones of the district, while the layered surface treatment introduces a modern metallic expression.
The use of double anodizing integrates colour directly into the aluminium, ensuring long-term durability, UV stability, and low maintenance. The result is a distinctive, two-tone anodized façade that reinforces the building’s symbolic character — a contemporary interpretation of industrial architecture and a lasting sign of Roombeek’s resilience.
