A London façade where anodized aluminium brings together warm colour variation, material rhythm and a soft ultra matt surface.

For 334 Oxford Street, anodized aluminium was used to create a façade with depth, rhythm and warmth. The building is a repurposed mixed-use development in the heart of London, where much of the existing structure was retained to reduce embodied carbon while creating a renewed and energy-efficient exterior.
What makes the façade especially interesting is the number of anodized colours used. Instead of working with one or two aluminium tones, the design repeats a broad palette across the building. This creates more variation and colour depth, while still keeping a clear architectural rhythm. The colours include AluRed 01, AluRed 02, AluRed 03, AluRed 04, AluBronze 02, AluBronze 03, AluOldCopper 01, AluOldCopper 02, AluCopper 01, AluCopper 02, AluCopper 03 and AluBlack.
With its ultra matt finish, the aluminium gains a soft, mineral appearance. This makes it an interesting alternative to ceramics, offering a similar sense of tactile warmth and natural colour variation, while keeping the benefits of anodized aluminium: lightweight, durable and suitable for repeating façade elements.
