Anodizing (Al₂O₃)
Electricity + Water + Aluminium
Anodizing of aluminium is done by combining raw aluminium in water with electricity resulting in rapid oxidation. Electrolysis is used to create an oxide layer in the material. The standard thickness of a layer is 20 or 25µm and can be adjusted on demand. In this process the ‘pores’ of the newly created oxide layer are open and prepared for the next step; colouring and sealing. Anodizing as done by Alumet is extremely UV Resistant and lightfast. Additionally natural anodized aluminium will stay cool even under influence of rays of the sun.
