Project Description
This 110-meter high residential tower in Rotterdam, located directly on the banks of the Maas, has a unique shape. This design helps the residents of the apartment complex behind it retain as much of their view as possible. The residential tower now stands on the site where an office building, designed by Herman D. Bakker in 1965, once stood. The original idea was to integrate the office building into the new structure, but this ultimately proved to be impossible. However, as a tribute, the shape of the office building has been retained for the lower floors.
The name refers both to the large terraces on the various floors and the staggered length and width of the building. In total, there are 340 possible apartments spread over 33 floors. Some of these have been combined to create larger living spaces. It is a mix of rental and owner-occupied units. Alumet has anodized both the façade cladding and the window and door profiles in the colour AluBronze03. This involves a total of 11,000 square meters of profiles and over 3,000 square meters of composite panels.
