Project Description
The Forge comprises two newly constructed commercial office buildings surrounding a publicly accessible internal courtyard, totaling approximately 139,000 square feet. This development will stand nine storeys high, featuring reception and basement areas. Emphasizing quality and sustainability, the project will enhance the streetscape and public realm significantly.
Utilizing a hybrid steel and concrete structural platform, The Forge integrates innovations from an Innovate UK First Phase Challenge Fund research project on Automated Construction. The structural platform, born out of this R&D initiative, will form the basis for office floor space. The project will also involve the development of cladding and building services components, creating a reusable kit-of-parts-based solution tailored for office environments.
