Project Description
A unique closed composition made up of a rectangular square, surrounded by just a single building: that is how millions of tourists see the Piazza San Marco in Venice every year. When Architekten Cie. designed the “Nieuw Amsterdam” building 25 years ago, the world famous St. Mark’s Square acted both as an inspiration and a model. Now the office block in downtown Amsterdam is getting a spectacular new aluminum façade. To put it simply: the captivating effect of the aluminum is virtually impossible to resist. Some 2,000 aluminum panels gleam in two carefully coordinated bronze tones, reflecting the light like a cut diamond and offering a different impression from every perspective – the façade seems to be alive!
