Shotblasting

Shotblasting

The shotblasted finish gives aluminium a matt, mineral-like texture with low reflection. Its appearance is comparable to ceramic or terracotta surfaces, while offering the durability, precision and lightness of anodized aluminium.

What shotblasting does

What shotblasting does

Ultra-matt shotblasting is a mechanical surface treatment in which fine blasting media uniformly impact the aluminium surface. This controlled process increases surface roughness and significantly reduces reflectivity, resulting in a deeply matt finish with a consistent, non-directional texture.

The isotropic surface structure ensures uniform visual behaviour across large panels, giving the material a calm and solid presence.

Performance & architectural character

Performance & architectural character

Because shotblasting is performed prior to anodizing, the anodic layer develops evenly across the textured surface. The result is a durable, low-glare finish suitable for exterior façades and exposed applications.

The ultra-matt character creates a material expression that feels solid and architectural, offering a refined alternative for projects seeking a mineral or ceramic-like surface quality, while retaining the technical advantages of anodized aluminium.

Other finishes

  • Matt etching

Creates a subtle, satin finish that diffuses reflections
and enhances the natural depth of aluminum.

  • Brushing

Applies a fine linear texture that gives aluminum a distinctive, stainless-steel appearance with modern appeal.

  • Brightening

Produces a high-gloss, reflective finish that highlights
    aluminum’s brilliance and visual purity.
