Project Description
VHP has made the aesthetic design of 45 works of art and 16 km of noise barrier. A robust and simple design was chosen to guarantee the quality of the design up to and including the implementation. This made the outward appearance of the designs independent of sensitive details. An exception to this is the tube screen. This screen has been devised together with the supplier up to and including implementation. Ultimately, both the design proposals for screens and artworks and the proposals for greenery and lighting always looked at the spatial coherence of the overall picture. For the noise barriers on the 'city boulevard' of Eindhoven (120 km per hour), a screen with a highly expressive high-tech character has been designed to represent Eindhoven's image as a technology and light city. This screen consists of perforated aluminum tubes of different diameter, length and silver colour and generates a continuous image.
