Platinox® - recycled anodized aluminium

Platinox® - recycled anodized aluminium

Platinox® is recycled aluminium processed under Alumet’s controlled anodizing standards, delivering architectural quality with a reduced environmental footprint.

What is Platinox®?

What is Platinox®?

Platinox® is anodized aluminium produced from recycled aluminium sources. It follows the same controlled anodizing process, layer thickness standards and quality controls as our primary production.

By combining recycled aluminium with our electrochemical anodizing process, Platinox® delivers identical corrosion resistance, UV stability and colour performance, without compromising structural integrity or surface quality.

Why choose Platinox®?

Why choose Platinox®?

Platinox® supports circular building strategies without sacrificing performance.

Recycled aluminium significantly reduces embodied carbon compared to primary aluminium production. At the same time, the anodized oxide layer (Al₂O₃) provides long-term durability, scratch resistance and minimal maintenance.

The result is a façade material that aligns sustainability goals with architectural longevity.

Sustainability without
quality loss

Recycled aluminium does not mean reduced performance.

The anodizing process forms a controlled aluminium oxide layer that is chemically identical, regardless of whether the base aluminium originates from primary or recycled sources. This ensures:

  • Identical corrosion resistance
  • Identical UV stability
  • Identical scratch resistance
  • Identical colour fastness

Platinox® meets the same technical standards as all Alumet anodized products.

All colours and finishes available

Platinox® is compatible with our full range of electrolytic colours and mechanical or chemical surface finishes,
including matt etched, brushed, brightened and ultra-matt finishes. Architectural freedom remains unchanged.
Sustainability is added.
  • Matt etching

Creates a subtle, satin finish that diffuses reflections
and enhances the natural depth of aluminum.

  • Brushing

Applies a fine linear texture that gives aluminum a distinctive, stainless-steel appearance with modern appeal.

  • Brightening

Produces a high-gloss, reflective finish that highlights
    aluminum’s brilliance and visual purity.

  • Shotblasting

Ultra-matt shotblasting produces a deeply matt, tactile surface by uniformly impacting the aluminum with fine media. The result is a low-reflection finish with a soft, mineral-like character.

  • Polishing

Polishing further refines the surface to achieve a near-mirror finish. This process maximizes reflectivity and creates a crisp, high-gloss appearance that interacts strongly with light and surroundings.

  • Double anodizing

Double anodizing combines finishing and anodizing in two stages to create layered surface effects. This technique allows for enhanced depth, subtle patterning or unique visual structures within the anodized layer.

Refined light-toned anodized finishes

Thanks to the controlled composition of recycled aluminium combined with our AluNature anodizing and brightened surface finish, Platinox® enables exceptionally light, cool-toned anodized appearances.

While anodizing itself is transparent, the interaction between the aluminium substrate and the brightened finish creates a refined, near-white architectural expression. The result is a luminous surface with high reflectivity and a clean, contemporary character — without the use of coatings or pigments.
